Presidente Hayes on top of the table after first three matchdays as the Women’s Championship kicks off today
The Superliga APF (Paraguayan Beach Soccer National Championship) keeps marching ahead in this second edition, which is taking place at the World Cup stadium Estadio Mundialista los Pynandi, and heads to its fourth stage.
Ten teams are taking part in this year’s competition:Presidente Hayes, Cerro Porteño, Sp. Mariano Roque Alonso, Casa España/Rubio Ñu, Deportivo Areguá, Garden Club, Sp. Luqueño, Deportivo Sajonia, Deportivo Luque and Coronel Romero.
Presidente Hayes became the winner of the third stage of the championship, following a solid 7-5 win over former champions Cerro Porteño on Sunday, as Deportivo Sajonia and Deportivo Areguá battled for the third place, with the latter taking a narrow 7-6 win to claim bronze place.
Women’s beach soccer on the rise, too
Together with the men’s competition, the Paraguay Superliga will also feature a women’s competition, including nine teams: Cruz Azul, Benjamín Aceval, Garden Club Paraguayo, San José (Villa Elisa), Municipalidad de Asunción , Atlético Cristal, Exa Col. Miguel A. Rodríguez, Club Nacional and Sportivo Luqueño.
The competition in the Women’s Superliga will consist of nine matchdays plus semifinals and final, and games kick off today. This is the schedule for this first stage of the competition:
18:30 – Club Nacional vs. Sportivo Luqueño
Pitch 1 – Comité Olímpico Paraguayo.
18:30 – Garden Club Paraguayo vs. San José (Villa Elisa)
Pitch 2 – Comité Olímpico Paraguayo.
18:30 – Cruz Azul vs. Benjamín Aceval
Pitch 3 – Comité Olímpico Paraguayo.
19:30 – Municipalidad de Asunción vs. Atlético Cristal
Pitch 2 – Comité Olímpico Paraguayo.
