Movers of the Month: Lokomotiv move up to third in the official ranking!

The Mundialito de Clubes champions jumped two places to replace Vasco in third

October was a momentous month for beach soccer as the official ranking of the sport’s clubs was updated.

The eighth edition of the Mundialito de Clubes saw the home side Lokomotiv Moscow claim the crown for a record third time, led by MVP – and Intercontinental Cup MVP with Russia – Boris Nikonorov.

They defeated defending Mundialito and Portuguese champions SC Braga in the final, seeing the Muscovites jump two places into third in the official ranking.

Lokomotiv replaced Brazilians Vasco da Gama, who finished the 2021 Mundialito in third, in the ranking, while city rivals Spartak Moscow rose three positions from 19th to 16th.

Despite their defeat in the final, Braga remain top of the table, while Euro Winners Cup champions BSC Kristall (RUS), keep their place in second.

Japanese club Tokyo Verdy, captained by the recently-crowned Best Player Ozu, shot up the ranking by an impressive 32 places, and currently sit in 44th place.
