The international event featured clubs from four different countries
Bulgarian champions MFC Spartak won the fourth edition of the strong international beach soccer tournament, which took place in Varna, Bulgaria this weekend.
The hosts lifted the trophy after a unique turnaround against Nistru. Spartak were three goals behind three minutes before the end of the match, but managed to pull themselves back to 5-5, sending the match to extra time, where Ivan Martinov snatched a winning goal to make it 6-5.
Nistru had won each of the three previous matches and had been unbeaten until their loss in the final, including a 5-2 victory against MFC Spartak in the group stage.
The four teams, MFC Spartak (BUL), Nistru (MDA), West Deva (ROM) and Napoli Patron (GRE) played each other in a round robin, and MFC Spartak and Nistru as the top two sides then went on to play a final on the last day.
The third place in the tournament was won by the Romanian West Deva, who beat Napoli Patron by three goals to one.
