Portugal’s national coach is one of the candidates to clinch a Globos de Ouro award on Sunday in Lisbon.
The Portuguese beach soccer setup continues to receive plaudits following World Cup and Euro Beach Soccer League titles in 2015 and an amazing start to 2016 that has seen Das Quinas enjoy Copa Pílsener and Sal Beach Soccer Cup success.
The world champions’ head coach, Mario Narciso, has been nominated for the Best Coach of the Year award at the Globos d’Ouro, organised by the Portuguese TV Network SIC.
Narciso has been shortlisted alongside Sporting Clube de Portugal coach Jorge Jesus, Jõao Ganso from the Benfica Athletics Team and Helio Lucas and José Sousa of Portugal’s National Canoeing Team.
The ceremony will take place at the Coliseu dos Recreios in Lisbon on Sunday, May 15th.
For the last year-and-a-half, the beach soccer world has seen the Portuguese team set the bar and Narciso, as its technical director, must take the lion’s share of the credit.
This weekend, the wider sporting arena could recognise these achievements by awarding Narciso the prestigious honour.
Boa sorte, coach!
