Portuguese star led the project of an Indoor Beach Sports hall, the City Park Indoor, inaugurated in Montijo (Setúbal) last Saturday
Madjer is, and will always be, one of the most important ambassadors of Beach Soccer. And not only because of what he is capable of doing inside the pitch, where he has earned the respect and consideration of a sports’ community that sees in the Portuguese captain one of the best players in the history of the most spectacular version of the Beautiful Game. Madjer is also helping the growth of the sport from outside the playing ground, with his availability and his commitment to spread the word of Beach Soccer and doing its (huge) bit wherever he is asked to.
In his last contribution to Beach Soccer, Madjer has led the project of building an indoor facilities where Beach Soccer, as well as any other beach sports, can be practiced during the whole year. Its name is City Park Indoor, and it has been built in Montijo, a town in Setúbal District. The City Park Indoor is the first Beach Sports hall in Portugal, and it means a very significant step forward in the promotion of Beach Soccer in Portugal.
“Building this City Park was something that needed to be done”, assured the super-gifted left-footed forward. “We are a formative country, and these facilities mean an optimal solution for the Beach Sports to grow”. Next step, as Madjer himself pointed, is the promotion of beach soccer in schools. First results cannot be more encouraging: In a couple of days, more than 130 children hit the sand of the City Park Indoor to learn how to play Beach Soccer.
