Buarcos beach will host the international youth competition between 9 and 11 of July
The world’s most promising beach soccer youth talent will be on show at third edition of the Madjer Youth Beach Soccer Cup.
The competition will run from 8 to 11 July on the beautiful beaches of Buarcos in Figueira da Foz, Portugal.
Teams from all over the world, including Portugal, Italy, USA, Spain and Germany, will compete in U16 and U18 categories.
There are eight teams taking part in the U18 category and the are split into the following groups:
Group B: Rostocker Robben (GER), GRA Pocariça (POR), RA 10 (ESP), AD Buarcos (POR)
Group C: Lazio BS (ITA), Naval (POR), Warriors SV (SLV) and Escola Amarelle (ESP)
In the U16 there is one group (Group A) of five Portuguese teams: GD Chaves, Naval, ACD Sotao, GD Ilha, AD Buarcos.
June 2018 saw the first ever Madjer Cup take place, as 16 clubs, representing El Salvador, Italy, Portugal, Spain, UK and United States came together to make history and play the inaugural international youth competition.
The second edition of the Madjer Cup was held in June of 2019, and after understandably taking a year off in 2020, this edition will be the third.
“A competition of this kind that involves young players and enhances the formative aspect of our sport is great news,” said Joan Cusco, Beach Soccer Worldwide President. “This is why Beach Soccer Worldwide is taking it under its umbrella. Apart from that, it takes place in one of the cradles of our sport, Portugal, with the name of one of the greatest beach soccer players ever. We are really looking forward to it.”
The third edition of the Madjer Youth Beach Soccer Cup is organised by DoctorSport Events, a world-leading organiser of beach sporting events, together with Beach Soccer Worldwide.
