Latvia and Estonia combine their national leagues

A draw on Sunday defined the opening fixtures while SK Augur retained the Estonian Super Cup

The neighbouring nations of Estonia and Latvia have combined beach soccer forced to create a joint competition, the Coolbet Beach Soccer League, composed of five Estonian and three Latvian clubs.

Alongside the organisation of the two-nation league, the Estonian Super Cup was also contested on Sunday and finished SK Augur 6 – 4 BSC Thunder.

Thanks to goals from Munskind (2), Nommiko, Lepik, Kuuse and Marmor, SK Augur took the title for the second year running.

The clubs competing in the league will be Nomme BSC, BSC Uksjalgvarav, SK Augur, BSC Thunder and BSC Turi from Estonia, while the Latvia representation will be BSC LAT, BFS Ropazi and FK Beitar.

The highest finisher from each nation will qualify for the Euro Winners Cup as their nations’ representatives in the European championship in Nazare.

A draw on 21 June organised the sides into the opening fixtures, which you can find below.

The Coolbet Beach Soccer League will be played in the following format: each team will play against each other twice (two rounds), a total of 14 games per team. They will play over seven matchdays (two matches per day) which will be played during July and August on Parnu beach in Estonia and Jurmala beach in Latvia. 

Top referees from both countries, including four FIFA referees, will be involved to ensure the highest standards of the implementation of Beach Soccer Laws of the Game during the competition.
