Istanbul Cup 2015 to kick-off this weekend

Antalyaspor, Al-Ahli, Milano, and Valencia take part in the club tournament, set for the 18th to the 20th of September at Marmara Forum

Antalyaspor BS, Al-Ahli BS, Milano BS, and Valencia CF will all be fighting for the crown in Turkey from the September 18th to the 20th in a fierce round-robin format at Marmara Forum. This is the second version of the event and after last years’ success, it is no wonder that Turkey is hosting yet another club event. Club beach soccer has been around for years and this kind of event is helping to grow the sport from the club level. This kind of promotion also naturally is helping the National Selections also, as can evidenced by the country each club is from, performs at a high level on the international stage as well.

BSC Lokomotiv will not be defending their title this year but the other four clubs are all eager to take it. Antalyaspor, National champions, are hosting the other three teams and many of their players are international stars or part of the tough Turkish National side. Italy is sending Milano BS, further helping to breed their own talent. Al-Ahli is a great club from a very recognizable UAE National League and lastly Valencia hails from Spain, who are obviously no stranger to beach soccer either.

There will be two matches a-day and the kick off begins with Milano taking on Al-Ahli on Friday at noon, local time. The second match of the day is Valenca vs Antalyaspor at 13-15. Day two features Al-Ahli vs Valencia at 12.00 followed by Antalyaspor vs Milano at 13.15. The final day will have Milano playing Valencia at midday and the final match of the weekend will be the hosts Antalyaspor vs Al-Ahli.
