Copacabana, in Rio de Janeiro, will host the third edition of this yearly thriller between 10th-17th, with 8 clubs involved
The new chapter in the history of the Mundialito the Clubes was finally unveiled today. This yearly club thriller is ready to bring on all the action once again, with the best clubs in the global football panorama journeying to the sand for a unique spectacle.
This 2013 edition will be held in a different venue, even more emblematic than ever before: The crane of the sport, the Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, will be the background of this absolute cracker. Between 10th and 17th of November, eight teams will be fighting for the third crown of this top-notch club event: SC Corinthians Paulista, CR Flamengo, FC Barcelona, CR Vasco da Gama, AC Milan, CA Peñarol, Botafogo FR and Al Ahli FC will compete for the club glory, trying to follow Lokomotiv Moscow in the list of winners of the tournament.
After the official draw, held this afternoon (5pm GMT+2) at Beach Soccer Worldwide Headquarters in Barcelona, 2010 champions Vasco da Gama, Botafogo, AC Milan and Al Ahli fell in Group A, with Corinthians, defending runner-ups Flamengo, FC Barcelona and newcomer Club Atlético Peñarol (Montevideo) going into group B.
The match schedule for this competition will be known soon, while the final configuration of the teams will be confirmed beginning of next week, when all the teams are required to send their final, approved rosters.
