Birr hosted the Swiss League spectacle from the 29th-30th of August with the top two teams earning a spot in the title match
Grasshopper Club Zurich and the BSC Chargers Baselland were in tight semi-final battles to determine the last two teams standing for the Swiss beach soccer season. The first semi-final was between Grasshopper Club Zurich against the reigning Swiss champion Sable Dancers, and the match was a dramatic showdown with 19 goals, however it was the Zurich club who came out on top by a score of 10-9.
In the second semi-final match everything was in front for the Basel club, they knew a tie or win would send them through. The Chargers knew what they had to do after their first leg victory, 4-0, over BSC Winti Panthers. Despite the 4-0 aggregate deficit, the Winti Panthers surprised and demanded all they could of BSC Chargers Baselland. The two rivals gave it their all in a 7-7 draw was just enough to send the Chargers through to the final.
