Senegal win 6-3 against Tahiti.
Senegal secured a commanding 6-3 victory over Tahiti in their second Group C match. Sylla opened the scoring three minutes into the game, giving Senegal an early lead. However, Tahiti responded through Taiarui’s powerful strike midway into the first period to level the score at 1-1. Just seconds before the end of the period, Chan-Kat displayed some clever skill followed by an acrobatic shot to put Tahiti ahead going into the second period.
Paama extended Tahiti’s advantage with an early goal in the second period, giving them a two-goal cushion. Senegal quickly cut the deficit as Diagne capitalised on a goalkeeping error. The match remained intense and end-to-end until Gadiaga brought Senegal level at 3-3 with just a minute left in the period.
In the final period, Senegal’s goalkeeper Faye fired a long-range strike straight into the net to give his side the lead. Sylla then scored his second of the match to stretch Senegal’s advantage, and with a minute to go, Diagne completed his own brace to seal the 6-3 victory.
Spain win 4-2 against Chile.
Spain continued their group stage journey with a composed 4-2 victory over Chile in their second Group C fixture. Suli Batis opened the scoring with a well-taken finish, assisted by Kuman, just three minutes into the first period. Chile responded with a brilliant header from San Martin to level the game at 1-1. However, Spain’s captain Chiky Ardil quickly restored the lead, and Kuman added another late in the period to give Spain a commanding 3-1 advantage.
The second period saw no goals, as Chile tightened their defence and managed to keep Spain at bay, heading into the final period still trailing by two.
Four minutes into the final period, Suli Batis struck again, capitalising on a defensive lapse to grab his brace and extend Spain’s lead to 4-1. Chile’s Araya found the net in the final moments, but it was too late to change the outcome. Spain’s disciplined performance ensured a 4-2 win.
