Russia, Switzerland, Spain and Italy make their first step in Euro Beach Soccer League 2016, as Estonia and Moldova do the same in Division B
Italy bend Belarus after tight fight
The Italian National team needed a breath-taking comeback and a last minute winner to finally clinch the points against their combative Belarusian homologues, in this opening matchday of the Euro Beach Soccer League Moscow 2016.
Belarus were up in the score for most of the match, and came close to upset defending Euro Beach Soccer Cup runner-ups, but the final reaction by Agostini’s men was too much to cope with.
The 1-3 run in the first leg, with goals by Slavutsin, Kanstantinay and Kamzolau, was the clearest evidence that Marco Octavio’s lads were only thinking in one thing: victory.
Italy tried to counteract their opponent’s momentum, but they could only pull one back in that opening leg.
Coming into the second frame, Italy knew that they needed to make the most of their chances if they wanted to prevail in the combat. Ramacciotti, missed a very clear one, but Palmacci had his back, with the 2-3 in the following move.
That was not enough, though. Italy wanted it all, and Ramacciotti wanted to put things right after that mistake. And he very much did, with two goals that gave Italy the win, after much suffering and hard-work.
Goals: 0-1: Slavutsin, min. 10 (1); 1-1: Frainetti, min. 6 (1); 1-2: Kanstantinau, min. 6 (1); 1-3: Kamzolau, min. 2 (1); 2-3: Palmacci, min. 7 (2); 3-3: Ramacciotti, min. 4 (3); 4-3: Ramacciotti, min. 1 (3);
Switzerland roll past France for stout win
Switzerland gave France little option in the first game of both sides in this year’s Euro Beach Soccer League. Since the very first minute, the Alpine side got in command, and cruised past Les Bleus for a loud win that have them eventually topping the table in their group.
A 3-0 run in the first 7 minutes of the game would have France far from the points since the very beginning. Marques pulled one back with a free kick before the period was over, but that would not be enough to enlighten the French path in the game.
Four more goals in the second frame for Switzerland, and an additional three in the beginning of the third left France with no option at all, heading to the last stage of the match.
Despite Les Bleus managed to score three goals in the last four minutes, the distance was too wide already, and their shy reaction fell way too short.
Goals: 1-0: Stankovic, min. 11 (1); 2-0: Hodel, min. 4 (1); 3-0: Ott, min. 4 (1); 3-1: Marques, min. 0 (1); 4-1: Stankovic, min. 0 (1); 5-1: Hodel, min. 8 (1); 6-1: Spacca, min. 3 (2); 7-1: Hodel, min. 11 (2); 8-1: Spacca, min. 10 (3); 9-1: Spacca, min. 9 (3); 10-1: Hodel, min. 6 (3); 10-2: Grandon, min. 4 (3); 10-3: Beaugrard, min. 2 (3); 10-4: Barbotti, min. 0 (3);
Spain reacts in second leg to clinch points
Greece gave Spain National side a pretty hard time this evening, in the opening matchday of the Euro Beach Soccer League Moscow 2016. La Roja was forced to fight until the last minute to secure the win, which gives them, momentarily, the head of the group in Russia.
Despite Cintas opened the score just seconds into the game, mighty Greeks turned the score around during the first frame, setting Spain’s alarms off.
Raul Merida had his team on equal terms pretty soon, though, and from there, Spain began conquering the match.
A 0-3 run in the middle leg gave Spaniards a control Greece could not counteract efficiently enough.
Pablo and Ezequiel widened the distance in the first minutes of the third period, and that defined the game for Alonso’s lads.
Kafantaris pulled one back for the Hellenic side, but it was way too little too late to change the game’s fate, and Spain ended up bagging a consistent win that pushes them on top of the standings in Group 2 of this Euro Beach Soccer League Moscow 2016.
Goals: 0-1: Cintas, min. 11 (1); 1-1: Papastathopoulos, min. 10 (1); 2-1: Triantafyllidis, min. 4 (1); 2-2: R. Merida, min. 3 (1); 2-3: R. Dris, min. 4 (2); 2-4: R. Dris, min. 2 (2); 2-5: Cintas, min. 1 (2); 2-6: Pablo, min. 7 (3); 2-7: Ezequiel, min. 6 (3); 3-7: Kafantaris, min. 3 (3);
Russia give Shkrain a happy 200-cap celebration with win over Poland
Anton Shkarin will always remember that his 200th match for Russia was played at home, in front of his family and his people, and it ended up with a consistent team-work win by his team. A win, that has Russia on top of the table in group 1, together with Switzerland.
The hosts would not let the Poles upset them at home again, and tried to get the reins of the game as soon as they could. It took Likhachev’s side some minutes,
But Krasheninnikov and Romanov swept the Russian side ahead before the first period was over.
Poland had not had their last say in the game, and began climbing back, knowing that one goal put them back again on the fight. Krawczyk finally found the back of the Russian nets, and that lightened up Poland’s spirit. Krysahnov hit again for Russia, but the Poles were determined to give the hosts a hard time, as Baran proved soon afterwards.
The two teams came into the last leg with a narrow one-goal advantage for Russia, what turned the last period into a twelve-minute thriller.
As the game approached its end, a penalty kick hit by Gorchinskiy left things as they were, with hosts Russia bagging the points and giving their crowd a satisfying first experience in this Euro Beach Soccer League Moscow 2016.
Goals: 0-1: Krash, min. 3 (1); 0-2: Romanov, min. 0 (1); 1-2: Krawczyk, min. 10 (2); 1-3: Krysahnov, min. 5 (2); 2-3: Baran, min. 4 (2); 2-4: Gorchinskiy, min. 1 (3);
Trofim’s brace helps Moldova turn score around over Kazakhstan
Moldova kick started this 2016’s Euro Beach Soccer League in a pretty heroic fashion, after coming from behind to grasp the three points in their game against Kazakhstan.
Despite things had got very difficult after the Kazakh’s 0-2 run in the first period, the Moldovan side managed to stay afloat, waiting for their chance to counteract their opponent’s momentum.
That chance seemed to arrive midway second period, when Podlesnov managed to balance the score for the first time. Notwithstanding, Chernyshov swept the Kazakhs ahead once again just two minutes later.
Moldova finally took over in the third frame. Trofim, with two goals, turned score around, and had Moldova clinching the first points at stake in this Euro Beach Soccer League (Division B pool).
Goals: 0-1: Tyulpa, min. 8 (1); 0-2: Chernyshov, min. 1 (1); 1-2: Nicolaiciuc, min. 0 (1); 2-2: Podlesnov, min. 5 (2); 2-3: Chernyshov, min. 3 (2); 3-3: Trofim, min. 4 (3); 4-3: Trofim, min. 2 (3);
Estonia on top of group after running past Serbia
Estonia became the eventual leaders of the Division B pool in the Euro Beach Soccer League Moscow 2016, following a stout win over Serbia.
Serbia stepped ahead in the score, and it seemed that they could fight their first win out in their beach soccer history. But Estonia had different plans for the game, and counterstroke to end up bagging a loud win.
Serbia’s advantage lasted just one minute, as Minlibajev scored the first of his hat-trick today to balance things back. Two minutes later, Lepik swept the Estonians ahead. And for good.
From then on, Estonia stayed on the driver’s seat, widening the distance and denying any attempt Knezevic’s lads tried.
With the final whistle, Estonia become the eventual leaders of the table in the Division B pool at Moscow. But there is still much at stake in this opening stage of the Euro Beach Soccer League, and only the head of the group gets the ticket to the Promotion Final.
