Action continued on the second day of the Euro Winners Challenge


The action intensified on the second day as teams battled to solidify their standings and build on their opening performances. With crucial points on the line, Nazaré witnessed an all-out fight in the ultimate quest for glory.

Group A
Marseille BT win 12-3 against AD Pasteis
The match saw Marseille BT establish an early advantage with Giff’s goal, and an unfortunate own goal from AD Pasteis quickly doubled Marseille’s lead 2-0 up in the opening period.

In the second period, the French side completely took control of the game. They fired in five unanswered goals, courtesy of Pedri, Sebastian, Reyder, Djafa, and Paulo, leaving AD Pasteis staring at a daunting 7-0 deficit.

The final period saw more goals, as Marseille BT cruised to a commanding 12-3 victory. Pedro dominated the frame by netting three times, while Djafa and Reyder secured their second goals of the match alongside another strike from Paulo. Despite late consolation goals from Andrezinho, Figueiredo and Marcelo to finally get AD Pasteis on the scoresheet, Marseille BT comfortably wrapped up the dominant win.

GD Sesimbra win 7-1 against Iraklis Xyl.
GD Sesimbra built a 3-1 lead heading into the first break. Loureiro opened the scoresheet in the very first minute, and Bernardo doubled their advantage midway through the period. Pyrgakis managed to pull one back for Iraklis Xyl., but Kiko found the net in the final minutes to safely restore the two-goal cushion for GD Sesimbra.

In the second period, GD Sesimbra maintained their momentum and continued to dictate the pace of the match. Loureiro struck for his second goal of the game, stretching their advantage to a comfortable 4-1 as they successfully kept the Greek side at bay.

The final period saw an own-goal by Iraklis Xyl. to further increased the tally for GD Sesimbra, before Algarvio and Pinhal both found the back of the net to cap off an excellent performance to a comfortable 7-1 victory.

Group B
Mouilleron SF win 7-2 against CB Viseu
A solitary strike from El Hamdaoui proved to be the only difference between the two sides in a tightly contested opening twelve minutes. His brilliant goal successfully broke the deadlock, sending Mouilleron SF into the first break with a narrow 1-0 advantage over CB Viseu.

The action intensified in midway through the second period. Billet and Favrou struck to extend Mouilleron SF’s lead to a comfortable 3-0, but CB Viseu quickly fought back through Nuni and Silva to slash the deficit to a single goal. Just as momentum seemed to be shifting, Billet struck for a second time, giving his side a crucial 4-2 cushion heading into the final period.

Mouilleron SF wasted no time putting the game to bed in the final stretch to claim a 7-2 victory. El Hamdaoui secured his brace in the very first minute of the restart. Mornet then added his name to the scoresheet before Billet completed a superb hat-trick to firmly seal three points for the French side.

ACD O Sótão B win 5-3 against Chiavari BS
A fast start allowed ACD O Sótão B to seize early control of the game, with Santiago and Dinis both finding the net to establish a quick 2-0 lead. However, Chiavari BS refused to let the game slip away, and a late strike from Gandolfo ensured the Italian side stayed well within reach, cutting the deficit to 2-1 by the first interval.

The second period delivered plenty of drama as Chiavari BS fought their way right back into the contest. Although Manuel restored a two-goal cushion for ACD O Sótão B just two minutes after the restart, their opponents responded brilliantly. Bacigaupo found the back of the net before Gandolfo grabbed his second of the match, wiping out the advantage and leaving the teams deadlocked at 3-3.

In a tense final twelve minutes, Manuel stepped up to score his second of the day and reclaim the lead for the Portuguese side, before Santiago’s late goal provided the final finishing touch to wrap up a hard-fought 5-3 victory.

Group C
Kefallinia AO BS win 6-1 against AD Nazaré B
A single strike from Koukovinis midway through the opening period allowed Kefallinia AO BS carry a narrow 1-0 lead into the first break.

The Greek side completely exploded offensively in the second twelve minutes, piling on five goals to effectively put the game out of reach. Braces from both Faros and Karakasis, alongside a solid strike from Katsoulis, overwhelmed the opposition defense. While Manuel managed to pull one back for AD Nazaré B, they still found themselves trailing heavily at 6-1 heading into the final period.

A much quieter final twelve minutes, Kefallinia AO BS comfortably managed the tempo of the game, fending off any remaining attacking efforts from AD Nazaré B to protect their commanding advantage to secure a 6-1 victory.

Hamrun win 3-1 against FC Genappe
Hamrun seized the game right from the opening whistle, with clinical finishes from William and Toni to gave the Maltese side a comfortable 2-0 advantage as they headed into the first break.

The second period proved to be a tighter tactical battle as both sides fought for control. However, a late strike from Almeida shifted the momentum even further in Hamrun’s direction, increasing their tally and sending them into the second break with a commanding 3-0 lead.

While FC Genappe managed to pull one back early in the final period to spark a brief glimmer of hope, it ultimately wasn’t enough to mount a full comeback. Hamrun held firmly onto their advantage to see out the remainder of the match and claim a well-earned 3-1 victory.

Group D
Naxos BS win 2-0 against CCD Porto Mendo
It was a tense and cagey start to the match, with both sides holding firm and refusing to give an inch throughout the opening twelve minutes ending goalless as the teams headed into the first break.

The tight tactical battle continued for much of the second period until the last seconds, Lança dramatic finish finally break the deadlock to give Naxos BS a crucial 1-0 advantage.

In the the final period, CCD Porto Mendo pushed hard for an equalizer while Naxos BS held firm to their slim lead until the very final moments of the match, when Batista struck in the closing seconds to secure a hard-fought 2-0 victory for Naxos BS.

GDU Ericeirense win 4-3 in penalties against Union Vrede BS, after a 3-3 deadlock
The opening period saw Sonaldo and Batista struck in rapid succession to put GDU Ericeirense 2-0 up, moments later Tchidede found the net to pull one back for Union Vrede BS, making it 2-1 heading into the first break.

GDU Ericeirense successfully re-established their two-goal cushion early in the second period when Vaz found the net to make it 3-1. However, Union Vrede BS absolutely refused to back down, and a late strike from Tchidede kept his side well in the contest, closing the gap to 3-2 ahead of the final period.

The third period delivered incredible drama as Tchidede completed a superb hat-trick to mount a brilliant comeback for Union Vrede BS, levelling the score at 3-3, forcing extra time which remained deadlocked, taking the game to penalty shootout, where GDU Ericeirense held their nerve to secure a dramatic 4-3 victory.
