Belarus take maximum points to book semifinal spot


Matchday 2 of the Euro Beach Soccer League Superfinal saw Belarus secure semifinal qualification in Group A with maximum points from two matches, while in Group B everything remains wide open. In the women’s competition, the race is equally tight after Poland’s penalty shootout win earned them a point.

Group A
Belarus win 6-4 against France
The opening period saw four goals evenly shared, as Bru struck first for France, before Bryshtsel replied for Belarus. Guerin restored the French lead, but Piatrouski equalised to make it 2–2 at the break.

Belarus took control in the second period with goals from Ryabko, Hapon, and Hardz, though Laasami and Belhomme kept France within touching distance at 5–4.

Bryshtsel had the final say late in the third, netting his second to seal a 6–4 victory and a crucial win for Belarus.

Italy win 6-3 against Portugal
Italy opened their account with a strong victory over Portugal, as Casapieri’s opener from goal gave them a slender 1–0 lead at the end of the first period.

Portugal struck back through Vasco midway into the second, but Italy responded instantly with Fazzini and Josep on target to restore control, carrying a 3–2 advantage into the final frame.

The closing stages produced a flurry of goals, with Leo scoring twice for Portugal, but Fazzini and Josep each completed their braces before Remedi sealed the 6–3 triumph for the Azzurri.

Women 
Group A
Poland win 3-2 on penalties against Switzerland, after a 5-5 draw
Poland and Switzerland delivered a rollercoaster contest in their Group A opener, with the holders prevailing 3–2 on penalties after a thrilling 5–5 draw. Korda gave Poland an early advantage, but late first-period goals from Williams and Küffer turned the game in Switzerland’s favour at 2–1.

The second period saw momentum swing both ways, as Jałocha and Suskiewicz restored Poland’s lead, only for Williams’ second and a strike from Flury to put Switzerland ahead 4–3 heading into the final period.

Poland battled back again in the third, with Gozdek equalising before Flury’s second of the day restored the Swiss advantage. Kamin struck four minutes from time to make it 5–5 and send the game into extra time. With no further goals, the penalty shootout decided the contest, Poland holding their nerve to secure a 3–2 win.
