Euro Beach Soccer League Division A stage two is underway in Moldova

On the opening day of action, Denmark edged Germany in a thrilling extra-time contest, Ukraine delivered a dominant performance against Estonia, Italy cruised past Belgium, and hosts Moldova claimed a narrow victory over Kazakhstan.

Group C
Italy win 6-1 against Belgium
Italy produced a dominant display to cruise to a comfortable victory against Belgium. After a goal-less first period, the deadlock was broken when Belgium drew first blood through Tanguy early in the second period, but Italy quickly responded when Josep Jr levelled the score 1-1.

A belgian own-goal puts the Italians ahead 2-1, as the Azzurri seized absolute control of the match with Bertacca firing them ahead to a two goal cushion. And right before the second period came to a close, Remedi struck to make it 4-1 for the Italians heading into the interval.

The final period saw Italy comfortably manage their commanding advantage while adding gloss to the scoreline. Sassari struck midway through the period to make it 5-1, and Fazzini capped off the stellar performance with a clinical finish in the dying minutes to seal the comprehensive 6-1 triumph.

Moldova win 2-1 against Kazakistan
Moldova secured a hard-fought victory against Kazakhstan in a tightly contested encounter. After a goalless opening period where both sides cancelled each other out, the deadlock was finally broken in the second period when Florea struck midway through the period to put Moldova ahead 1-0.

The hosts capitalised on their momentum shortly after, as Ignat found the back of the net to extend Moldova’s advantage to 2-0. Kazakhstan fought valiantly to find a way back into the match as the game progressed into the final period.

Hopes of a comeback were ignited when Muralinov pulled a goal back for Kazakhstan early in the third period. However, Moldova held firm under intense late pressure to successfully see out the remainder of the match and claim the narrow 2-1 triumph.

Group D
Denmark win 4-3 against Germany, at extra time
Denmark secured a thrilling victory over Germany in the opening match of Group D. The Danes exploded out of the gate in the first period, taking a commanding 3-0 lead courtesy of a quickfire double from Pilgaard followed by Wegeberg’s strike, before Germany pulled one back 3-1, benefiting from Denmark’s own goal just three minutes before the first break.

Germany mounted a spirited comeback as the match progressed into the second period, cutting the deficit when Olli found the net at game restart to reduce the deficit 3-2 for the German side. The German pressure continued to mount after the restart in the third and final period, and with three minutes left on the clock, Mülling struck to level the score at 3-3, forcing extra time.

With the tension at its peak in the dying stages of the game, the decisive moment arrived when Damm netted the winning goal to seal the hard-fought 4-3 triumph for Denmark.

Ukraine win 5-1 against Estonia
The Ukrainian side asserted total dominance in the opening period, storming ahead when Kislov opened the scoring two minutes into the game, quickly followed by a strike from Samoilenko and a third by Levchenko with three minutes remaining before the break.

The second period remained tightly contested and scoreless as both defenses held firm, keeping Ukraine’s comfortable 3-0 advantage intact heading into the final interval.

Estonia tried to find a way back into the match early in the third period when Kigaste found the net early in the period. However, Ukraine swiftly extinguished any hopes of a comeback as Merezhyn restored the three-goal cushion, before Levchenko added his second of the night to seal the comprehensive 5-1 triumph.
