Semifinals defined after last group stage matchday at the International Beach Soccer Sharm El Sheikh
Egypt, England, Lebanon and Romania will vie for a place in the final of the International Beach Soccer Egypt Sharm El Sheikh, following the last day in the group stage.
A narrow win over England had the hosts clinching the head of the group, thus securing a better fixture in the semi-finals. Despite the Pharaoh’s began the third period down in the score (4-5), two goals in the last twelve minutes had them earning the three points and securing the first place in Group A’s table.
In Group B, with Lebanon already qualified as the best team, Hungary and Romania squared off for the last of the thickets to semi-finals, with the latter bagging the go-through after a terribly balanced game. One goal by target man Maci in the last minute of the extra time finally sent the Carpathians onto next round, leaving the Magyar with the only chance to fight for the 5th place against Kuwait.
