Both the Men’s and the Women’s teams of the ‘Iron Furnaces’ claim the crown
The girls of Djurgardens IF FF will keep the Swedish crown for one more year, after they claimed Sweden’s National Beach Soccer Championship, whose semi-finals and finals took place this past weekend in Långviken (Kalmar).
The 2018 and 2019 champions bent the previous queens, Vetlanda United (2016 and 2017 champions) with a hard-fought 4-2 win in the final. Djurgardens’ Kajsa Sund, with seven goals over the weekend, clinched the top scorer award, too.
It was also a great weekend for their Male counterparts, too. The Men’s side of Djurgardens IF FF seized the National Championship Cup for the first time ever, thanks to a narrow 2-1 win over Bemannia FC.
