The former Brazilian international goalkeeper jumps to Beach Soccer and joins the rossoneri side back , this time on the sand
AC Milan have sealed a very interesting signing for the upcoming II Mundialito de Clubes Beach Soccer, to happen next 12th to 19th of May in the Repressa de Guarapiranga, São Paulo. The Brazilian international goalkeeper Nelson de Jesús Silva, Dida, has joined the rossoneri to experience all the thrill and excitement of Beach Soccer after such a prolific career in professional football with the Lombard side.
With a one decade trajectory in San Siro, and close to a hundred games for the Verdeamarela, Dida has become one of the most important goalkeepers in the Brazilian football history. With two Champions League Cups, one Scudetto, one Copa Libertadores and two FIFA World Club Championships in his records, Dida quitted professional football two years ago, and now he feels excited to experience a new and spectacular modality: Beach Soccer.
AC Milan has been the club he has built a top-flight football name in, and AC Milan was, then, the best place to be when jumping to Beach Soccer. Besides, doing it in such a competitive event, with many other big clubs such as FC Barcelona, Sporting Clube Portugal, Corinthians, Flamengo and many others, is something the goalkeeper highly regards, and he has been training hard to be up to the expectations: “It is great to have the opportunity of participating in such an important event. I have been two years out of football, but my training in Mongaguá is producing great results, and I am quickly getting used to the pace of the game and the special conditions of the sand”.
Beach Soccer fans will have not to wait much to see him in action. Just four days, as AC Milan are making their debut in the second matchday of the competition, facing Argentinean giants Boca Juniors (14.30 Brazilian time – 19.30 Italian time).
