The North Beach Bandshell Sand-bowl was the setting for the second edition of the Celebrity Beach Soccer Match presented by Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood in Miami.
Swapping high-heels and long dresses for bare feet, shorts and t-shirts were five Miss Universes: Marisela De Montecristo, Karina Ramos, Andrea Piecuch, Gabriela Clesca Vallejo and Catriona Gray, as well as Kaleigh Garris (Miss Teen USA), Ariadna Gutierrez (Miss Colombia) and Génesis Dávila (Miss Puerto Rico).
Playing alongside them was the Mayor of Miami, Francis Suarez, and some of the other celebrities in attendance included NFL star Greg Joseph, too.
As in the previous year, the event was in support of the Best Buddies organization and took place on 23 November with an aim to promote a culture of sports inclusion, social responsibility and employment integration of those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Other familiar faces included two-time Superbowl winner and ex-baseball and American football player, Tyler Gaffney, as well as several soccer players, such as Venezuelan internationals Juan Fuenmayor and Juan Fernando Arango, Italian ex-international Marco Borriello (ex-AC Milan, Roma, Juventus and West Ham) and another ex-pro Juan Pablo Galavis, who is also known for appearing on reality TV show, The Bachelor.
Other participants from the entertainment industry included music artists like irie and TV personality Rachel Lindsay Abasolo.
Celebrities, sports stars, models and Buddies came together for a unique fun-filled day of events that included 7-aside beach soccer matches, meet-and-greets, children’s clinics, soccer training fitness class, show-cases, brand activations and much more.
Industry professionals, sport enthusiasts, local government agents, influencers as well as local residents enjoyed a family-friendly event with individuals from different cultures and all over the world coming together to simply have fun.
Once again, beach soccer proves its incredible power to bridge gaps and bring people together.
