A last-breath hit by Madjer gave the rossoblu the crown over Serie A champions Terracina
Domusbet Catania became the champions of the Italian Supercooppa, following a narrow last-secon win over defending league champions ASD Terracina in the final played at Riccione this last Thursday.
The star Portuguese signings by Della Negra side, Belchior and Madjer, ended up being key for the rossoblu to bag the first title of the season, specially the latter, whose hit almost over the hooter untied things to make Catania the champions.
After a very balanced first period, in which Catanese and Terrecinesi hit once, the goals by Belchior and Fred seemed help Della Negra’s side take off. But in the beginning of the third frame, Palmacci’s brace balanced things back.
When the extra-time seemed the only way out, Madjer’s terrific left foot send the last ball home, defining the Supercoppa final.
The last-second hit helped Domusbet Catania clinch their 4th Supercoppa, the first they could snatch back since their last one down in 2009.
The action goes on this weekend in Riccione, with the finals of the Men and Women’s Serie A, and the Serie B playoffs.
