Cali and São Pedro to contest the gold medal

São Pedro will defend the Americas Winners Cup title against Cali. Both teams won their semi-finals today and will face off this Sunday for continental glory.

Cali were the first team to secure their place in the final, but it was Las Costeñas who took the lead midway through the second period after an evenly contested opening half. However, Cali’s response was immediate, with Barbara Colodetti equalising from the kick-off. The third period belonged entirely to Cali, who scored five goals to seal their place in the final.

In the other semi-final, São Pedro had a dream start, scoring twice in less than two minutes, and made it 3-0 in the second period. But Barra de Santiago fought back, reducing the deficit to 3-2. The Brazilians, however, were determined to repeat last year’s final appearance and ensured victory with a 6-3 result, with Tai scoring twice to extend her lead at the top of the goalscorer list.
