Llorenç wins Best Player and Marina Fedorova wins Best Woman’s Player as the beach soccer stars are awarded
In a night of glitz and glamour, the very best and most influential in the business, gathered and were recognised.
The venue was the V Hotel Dubai, Curio Collection by Hilton in Dubai and the room was full of beach soccer’s best-known faces, many of whom were nominated for awards.
The grand finale of the evening was the Best Player of the Year, which went to the Spanish number ten, Llorenç. The Best Women’s Player of the Year went to Marina Fedorova from Russia.
Llorenç also made the Best 5 Stars, along with the Brazilians who joined him in race for the last three Best Players, Bruno Xavier and Datinha.
Making up the dream team, voted for by the captains and coaches of all of the federations registered with Beach Soccer Worldwide, was Japan’s Ozu and, in goal, was Elinton Andrade, who also won the Best Goalkeeper of the Year. The Rising Star went to Mohammad Moradi, who played a huge part in Iran’s victory in Dubai, and who put in such an impressive performance in the Persian Beach Soccer Cup.
The other recognitions included for Best Goal of the Year, won by Spanish striker, Edu, for his sublime overhead, as well as the award for the Best Event of the Year, which went to the Portuguese coastal town of Nazaré that claimed the trophy. Euro Beach Soccer League and Women’s Euro Beach Soccer Club in Nazaré.
All that remained was to pose for photos and mingle to talk about the year that has past, and of course, the season to come…
