Joscha Metzler still leads the scoring charts with 18 goals after nine matches
After nine matches of the German Beach Soccer Championships, reigning champions Beach Royals Düsseldorf are the only team to remain perfect as they downed two-time Euro Winners Cup semi-finalists, Real Münster by five goals to four.
Building on winning their first league title in 2021, the Beach Royals also beat Hertha and FC Versandkostenfrei, taking maximum points (27) so far in the 2022 edition.
Real Münster were leaders ahead of the matches that took place this weekend, but were defeated twice – their first losses in the 2022 national campaign – to drop into third. They do still boast the top scorer, Die Mannschaft number 10 Joscha Metzler, who currently has 18 goals in nine matches.
Rostocker Robben are tied on points with Münster, but put a staggering 17 goals past bottom-place Golden Goalers Korbach to sit above their rivals in second on goal difference.
Bavaria Beach Bazis currently sit in fourth after taking five points at the weekend, in one normal time and one extra time victory.
Beach Boyz Waldkraiburg and Rostocker Robben II sit in fifth and sixth on 12 points each, and in the battle between the tussling teams, Waldkraiburg came out on top as 6-4 winners. However, it was Rostocker Robben II who opened the door for league leaders Beach Royals Düsseldorf, by defeating rivals Real Münster in a giant slaying campaign, tasting a 4-2 victory.
Hertha take up position in seventh, while behind them are SandBall Leipzig who enjoyed two victories in the three matchdays over the weekend, improving their situation in the league.
FC Versandkostenfrei, in ninth, and Golden Goalers Korbach, suffered three more defeats, with the latter still in search of their first points in the 2022 campaign.
There are ten clubs taking part in the 2022 German league, and the next stage will begin on 30 July.
