The Spanish champions will represent their country at the Euro Winners Cup next year.
CD Bala Azul will be Spain’s representative in the women’s Euro Winners Cup next year after they were crowned national champions in San Lorenzo.
In a five-team league, the side from Murcia proved themselves consistently over the course of three days, boasting a 100 per cent record en route to winning the inaugural competition.
Local side CD Higicontrol kicked off proceedings with a 6-5 win against FP Huelva in extra-time before fellow Melilla representatives CD Espiguera Feminas were beaten 8-4 by CF Playa Caceres.
Playa Caceres were in action again in the afternoon – going down 5-1 at the hands of Huelva – before Bala Azul set their stall out with a dominant 17-2 victory against a youthful Espiguera side.
Higicontrol and Playa Caceres went head to head on Friday as the latter won out 3-2 before Bala Azul picked up their second win of the competition thanks to a decisive 7-0 success against Huelva.
The eventual champions were back in action in the afternoon as they defeated Playa Caceres 4-1 while the day’s beach soccer brought to a close with a local derby that saw Higicontrol brush aside Espiguera 12-0.
Saturday began with Huelva picking up a 7-0 win against Espiguera before the champions signed off their 100 per cent campaign with a 4-2 victory against Higicontrol, leaving them with just the celebratory formalities remaining.
While Gema of Higicontrol picked up the top goalscorer award, Bala’s Carmen Fresnel was named best player to cap an impressive few days’ work from the champions who will now look ahead to next year’s Euro Winners Cup.
