The Spanish and FC Barcelona legend will be a part of the Catalan side in the upcoming showdown in São Paulo
The II Mundialito de Clubes is getting a huge attention worldwide, and many former football stars are jumping onboard to play their role down at the Repressa de Guarapiranga. A new worldwide known name to join the competition is José Mari Bakero, captain to the Johan Cruyff steered FC Barcelona, the legendary ‘Dream Team’, who will now be part of the Catalan side in São Paulo.
With more than 260 games for Barça, 230 with Real Sociedad, and 30 caps with Spain, Bakero’s records include one Champions League, six Spanish League titles, two Cup Winners Cups or three Copa del Rey, among many other trophies. This time, the Navarra-born midfielder has wanted to jump onto the sand, attracted by Beach Soccer’s eye-catching, spectacular display.
FC Barcelona’s Beach Soccer team captain and coach, Ramiro Amarelle, highlights that “Jose Mari’s huge experience on top-flight football will bring the team a lot of value. It is a great pleasure to count on him”.
