Argentina’s first domestic beach soccer competition gets underway later today with 11 teams competing to be crowned national champions.
A regular at international level, the South American nation have now taken the important step to evolve their domestic game and will see the first phase of the championship take place across Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Acassuso, Ituzaingo, Huracan, Racing Club, Barracas Central, Ferro Carril Oeste, Buenos Aires City FC, Union Deportivo Provincial de Empalme Lobos, Rosario Central, Argentino de Rosario and Central Cordoba are the teams who will take part in the maiden edition of the event, which will be split into three zones.
The winners of each of the three zones will then meet in the second phase, with the overall champions guaranteed a spot at the Copa Libertadores de Futbol Playa 2017.
