World class beach soccer returns to Nazaré as another Mundialito touches down in Portugal
The 2019 season sees the return of the oldest beach soccer event in the calendar – the Mundialito.
This edition of the BSWW Mundialito will be held August 13 to 15 in Nazaré, Portugal. Although it is the first time that the town has hosted this specific event, it is fast becoming a beach soccer haven.
The crown will be contended over three days of Round Robin, where each side will play each other once.
This year is the 23rd edition of the four-team tournament, and sees Portugal compete to defend the title they won in 2018, while last year’s finalists Spain will be looking to dethrone their hosts and repeat the glory of 2012.
Japan return for the second year running, and they will be trying to top their current best of third place as they take on old rivals and new-comers Senegal.
Senegal and Japan may have conquered their continents in recent months, but can they overcome the might of the European Games’ gold and silver medallists?
