Poland upset Switzerland (3-5) as Ukraine hammer France (0-10) in the opening of the Continental season in Kiev
Poland beat Switzerland in Euro Beach Soccer League opening
Defending Champions Switzerland were given a terribly bitter first game in defense of the title. The Polish National side, who had been giving clear symptoms of their growth and their will to jump onto the highest step in the European Beach Soccer during last season, edged the Swiss in the opening game of the Euro Beach Soccer League Kiev 2013.
Saganowski?s side reached this beginning of the continental league in an amusing shape, and their dynamic display caught the Swiss by surprise. Widzicki opened the score just seconds into the game, and gave the Polish the first lead. Meier would equalize for the Alpine midway the period, but Baran would sweep Poland ahead once again before the break with a terrible shot.
Widzicki, once again, would widen the gap for Poland and, after Kaspar cut the distance a bit, Saganowski would restore the two-hit distance. Stankovic pulled one back for Schirinzi?s side with a penalty kick, but the reaction by the continental champions would not get any further. Instead, a mistaken back pass by Leu became the final 3-5 which gave Poland the first points in this refurbished Euro Beach Soccer League.

Merciless Ukraine take the lead in EBSL Kiev after blasting France
The Ukrainian National side inflicted France a terribly heavy defeat in the opening matchday of the Euro Beach Soccer League Kiev 2013, the first stage of the continental season. In an almost perfect game, the hosts ended up bagging a loud 0-10 win that gets them topping the table in this opening of the league.
Just two minutes into the game, it was already set clear that it was not to be an easy evening for the French side. Two hits by Zborovsky earned a comfortable advantage for the Kucherenko-steered squad, something Sydorenko confirmed from the long distance before the hooter.
But the ordeal was not over for François? team, as Ukraine was not done yet?The hosts were ready to capitalize every single mistake by Les Bleus, any single man left off mark? The evening was getting worse and worse for the French, who could only stomach one Ukrainian hit after another, until being faced to a blunt 0-10.
In the other end, Sydorenko brilliantly denied the last and only chances for the French, and the match was blown over to confirm the blasting victory by the Ukrainians, who could not find a better first step into the season.
