The tournament will see the best beach soccer clubs in the CONCACAF and CONMEBOL regions compete for continental glory
El Salvador will host the first ever Americas Winners Cup in February. The best beach soccer clubs from North, Central and South America will enter the fray to see who are the kings of the CONCACAF and CONMEBOL region.
The competition aims to emulate the success of the Euro Winners Cup and further develop beach soccer in the whole American territory.
For Joan Cuscó, President of Beach Soccer Worldwide, “this competition comes as an answer to the exponential globalisation of beach soccer. The sport has been growing significantly in the American continent with more players and more teams joining the game, and the Americas Winners Cup will bolster the development of beach soccer there. El Salvador, a country that has been showing a remarkable evolution in beach soccer in recent years, is the perfect stage for this exciting competition.”
Yamil Bukele, ad Honorem President of the Instituto Nacional de los Deportes de El Salvador, highlighted “El Salvador as a definitive spot for beach soccer in America. The sport has been gathering so many players and passionate fans in El Salvador and this tournament is a clear sign that we want to keep developing and investing in this amazing sport in our country and in the whole continent.”
The competition is scheduled to take place between 6 and 12 February and the venue will be announced soon.
