All set for the Euro Beach Soccer League Andalucía El Puerto de Santa María 2025

The competition kicks off on May 22 at the iconic Plaza Real de Toros.

Just days before the start of the Euro Beach Soccer League Andalucía El Puerto de Santa María 2025, a press conference was held in El Puerto de Santa María, Cádiz, as the men’s and women’s teams prepare to compete for the prestigious title from May 22 to 25. The event featured the presence of the Consejera de Cultura y Deporte, Patricia del Pozo, the Fourth Vice President of the Diputación de Cádiz and Mayor of El Puerto de Santa María, Germán Beardo, the President of the Real Federación Andaluza de Fútbol, Pedro Curtido, the Director of the Beach Soccer Committee of the RFEF, Raul Sus, and the Events Director of Beach Soccer Worldwide, Josep Ponset.

The Men’s Division A features two highly competitive groups: Group A, composed of Spain, Ukraine, Germany, and Georgia; and Group B, made up of Portugal, Poland, France, and Türkiye. These elite teams will compete from May 22 to 25, showcasing the best of beach soccer and national pride.

Meanwhile, Men’s Division B includes Lithuania, Azerbaijan, England, and Belgium, who will fight for promotion to Division A at the end of the season.

The Women’s Euro Beach Soccer League adds even more excitement with Group A (Spain, Ukraine, England) and Group B (Poland, Czechia, Belgium), highlighting the growing importance of women’s beach soccer on the international stage.

Mayor Germán Beardo warmly welcomed all participating teams, emphasizing “the immense pride it brings our city to host one of the most important beach soccer competitions in Europe, gathering the continent’s top national teams in such a unique and iconic venue as our Plaza Real de Toros.”

Beardo noted that “events like the Euro Beach Soccer League not only put El Puerto on the international sports map but also solidify our position as a top destination for major events, generating significant economic and tourism returns for our city and the entire province.” He thanked the organizers and institutions for choosing El Puerto as the venue, reinforcing “our projection as a great city of sports, culture, history, and tourism.”

“El Puerto,” the mayor concluded, “is a vibrant, welcoming, and constantly growing city, ready to warmly receive a top-level championship. The combination of elite sport, inclusion, and youth reflects the values that define us as a society and drive us firmly toward the future we aim to build.”

The Plaza Real de Toros of El Puerto de Santa María, inaugurated in 1880, is one of the largest and most iconic bullrings in Spain, with a ring diameter of 60 meters and a capacity for nearly 12,000 spectators. Its monumental architecture and rich history make it a unique venue for hosting top-level sports events. It is ready to welcome the Euro Beach Soccer League 2025. Josep Ponset, Events Director at Beach Soccer Worldwide, thanked the City Council of El Puerto de Santa María, the Consejera de Cultura y Deporte of the Junta de Andalucía, the Diputación de Cádiz, the Real Federación Andaluza de Fútbol, and the Real Federación Española de Futbol for their collaboration in making the event possible. Ponset praised the unique setting of the Plaza Real de Toros, describing it as “a historic and vibrant venue that will elevate the excitement of beach soccer.”

Consejera Patricia del Pozo emphasized that “this tournament, with the 18 best national men’s and women’s beach soccer teams in Europe, further strengthens the Andalusian government’s commitment, led by Juanma Moreno, to host major sporting events and make Andalucía a top destination for national and international competitions.”

She also highlighted that “these events not only promote sports participation among our citizens but also serve as a major tourist and cultural attraction, allowing us to showcase our best, and generate a significant economic impact – estimated at approximately 6 million euros – from hotel stays, marketing rights, and audiovisual broadcasting at national and international levels, as well as the tournament’s social media reach.”

Pedro Curtido, President of the Real Federación Andaluza de Futbol, expressed pride in once again working as a team with Beach Soccer Worldwide, describing it as “a guarantee of success to make Andalucía and the province of Cádiz a global reference.” He voiced confidence in the high level of competition expected in El Puerto, “where we will see and enjoy the best players in the world.”

Curtido also referenced the federation’s ongoing project promoting inclusion through football, which will be reflected in the event: “Players from the Andalusian Inclusive League, made up of athletes with functional diversity, will also have their moment to enjoy beach soccer, and we will support them as fans, sharing their joy.” Thanks to this initiative, Andalucía has won both editions of the National Championship of Regional Inclusive Beach Soccer Teams organized by the RFEF (with the 2025 edition also set to be hosted in the province of Cádiz).
