Alghero to host World Winners Cup 2023

The competition returns to Sardegna in September

The Spiaggia del Lido di Alghero will be the stage of the third edition of the World Winners Cup between the 26th September and 1st October. The event remains therefore on Italian soil after last year’s edition in Cagliari.

Men’s and women’s clubs from all around the world will be competing to succeed Real Münster (GER) and Lady Grembach (POL), who won last year’s tournament.

The registration deadline is 15th August and the list of the participating teams will be published after. Clubs interested in taking part in the World Winners Cup Alghero 2023 shall contact [email protected] .

A prize money for the champions is one of this year’s World Winners Cup new features and more details about it will be announced soon.

Joan Cuscó, President of Beach Soccer Worldwide, stated: “We are grateful to Sardegna to host us once again. We want to build on the success of last year’s edition of the World Winners Cup, this time in the beautiful city of Alghero. This competition is a strong sign of the growing globalisation of beach soccer.”

The World Winners Cup had its maiden edition in 2019 in Alanya, Turkey, where Flamengo (BRA) and Pavia (ITA) lifted the trophy for the men’s and women’s tournament respectively.
