Portugal’s coach recognised following Women’s Euro Beach Soccer League Superfinal triumph in Viareggio
Alan Cavalcanti has been awarded the “Champions Award” by the National Association of Football Coaches (ANTF) in recognition of Portugal’s historic victory at the Women’s Euro Beach Soccer League Superfinal Viareggio 2025.
The Portuguese women’s national team secured their first-ever European title after defeating Spain 4–2 in the final, marking a landmark moment for the development of women’s beach soccer in the country.

In presenting the distinction, ANTF highlighted Cavalcanti’s contribution to the achievement, stating that the award was given “in recognition of the extraordinary achievement in the Women’s European Beach Soccer League Superfinal, the result of talent, hard work, unity and dedication, which raised the profile of Portuguese coaching and highlighted sporting excellence.”

On his instagram account, Alan wrote “I would like to thank ANTF for recognising the work of everyone involved with the Women’s Beach Soccer National Team – the coaching staff, the players and the Portuguese Football Federation. Many thanks, and may there be many more to come.”
A former international beach soccer player himself and a well-known figure in the sport, Alan Cavalcanti has long been regarded as one of the key references in Portuguese beach soccer, both on and off the sand.
