Madjer was again decisive with a hat-trick in decider against Al Nasr, with Belchior and Kamal helping for the 5-1
Madjer scored a hat-trick to lead Al Ahli to the UAE Beach Soccer Supercup, after beating Al Nasr 5-1 this weekend. The Portuguese ace hit once in each period to help his team confirm their superiority against their traditional beach soccer rivals in a rather ill-tempered match. His three goals run was further pushed by compatriot Belchior and UAE local hero Kamal to have a rather uncontestable scoreboard.
Dr Ahmed Al Sharif, Secretary-General of Dubai Sports Council presented the trophy to the winners along with Al Nasr Club CEO Marwan Bin Gulaitha.
Madjer, who was part of the Al Ahli team that lost to Al Nasr in the President’s Cup final at the same venue last month, was pleased to help his team through to another title.
?I hope beach soccer in the UAE is benefitting from my presence,? the Portuguese captain said.
?I like the set-up in the club and don?t have any sort of problem trying to help this sport develop in this part of the world,? he added.
Al Ahli opened the score midway through the first period as Belchior, the second Portuguese player in the side, accepted a faulty back pass and slammed home. Madjer then converted a penalty kick immediately thereafter to make it 2-0 for Al Ahli.
In the second period, Al Ahli added another two goals with hard-working Kamal Ali and Madjer on target for a 4-0 cushion just before Iran?s Hussain Khurshid pulled one back at the end of the period to make it 4-1.
No way to the nets were found again by Al Nasrm in the remaining minutes, and before the final horn, Madjer found the crack to shot his third hit home to confirm the win for Al Ahli.
?We played to a plan here today as we did not want to commit the same mistakes we did in the President?s Cup,? said Al Ahli captain Qambar Mohammad.
The teams will now start preparing for the UAE Beach Soccer League that will get under way at the same venue from December 7.
The UAE Beach Soccer Super Cup was organised and held under the auspices of the Dubai Sports Council.
