The Confederation’s Futsal & Beach Soccer Committee Meeting takes place in Bangkok announcing Thailand as host for the upcoming AFC Championships
The AFC Futsal and Beach Soccer Committee Meeting was held in Bangkok on Friday, announcing that some key decisions had been made in order to enhance the growth and development of beach soccer, at all levels, on the Asian continent.
During the meeting, many strategic steps were agreed with a view to boost the presence of elite beach soccer, including women’s beach soccer, acknowledging the huge potential in hosting such an increasingly popular sport.
The Committee also announced that the AFC Beach Soccer Championships (the competition that serves as the Asian Qualifiers for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup) will travel to Thailand for the 2019 edition, which will be held in March.
After the success of the maiden tournament, which took place in Kuala Terengganu (Malaysia) back in March 2017, Thailand will become the stage for the second chapter of the most important Asian continental beach soccer competition.
