The Acapulco Beach Soccer Cup is set to make its return between 13th and 15th December for the second edition, following last year’s success.
Some of the best teams in the world will once again compete at the Arena GNP Seguros by Mundo Imperial Entertainment & Hospitality in Acapulco, a venue that impressed players, coaches, and fans last year.
The Acapulco Beach Soccer Cup was presented today in the International Tourism Trade Fair FITUR in Madrid with the presence of Josep Ponset, Director of Events of Beach Soccer Worldwide, Lic. Miguel Torruco Marqués, Secretary of Tourism of Mexico, Lic. Santos Ramírez Cuevas, Secretary of Tourism of Guerrero and Seyed Rezvani, General Director of Mundo Imperial.
The event will have a women’s and a men’s tournament, and the national teams of hosts Mexico, and the USA have already confirmed their presence in both categories, with the remaining participating teams to be announced soon.
Joan Cuscó, President of Beach Soccer Worldwide, commented: “we are very happy to return to Acapulco, where beach soccer found a new home with the most impressive facilities. Last year’s expectations were highly exceeded thanks to the professional structure we encountered and with whom it’s a pleasure to be partnering again, aiming even higher this year. After the tragedy that affected the region, we want to help in any way we can to rebuild Acapulco and bring joy and entertainment to our friends, two core characteristics of beach soccer.”
In 2023 the USA won the women’s competition, while Colombia lifted the men’s trophy.
