Acapulco Beach Soccer Cup 2026 Set to Kick Off

Top men’s and women’s teams line up, and Beach Soccer clinic highlights build-up


With just hours to go, anticipation is building in Acapulco as the Beach Soccer Cup 2026 prepares to get underway at Arena GNP Seguros. The tournament features a strong international line-up, with Mexico, Brazil, USA, and Japan competing in the women’s competition, marking Japan’s debut. While Portugal, Paraguay, USA and host will contest the men’s event.

In the lead-up to kick-off, a press conference brought together key stakeholders including Covadonga Huertas, Tourism Sub-secretary of Guerrero State; Igor Lozada, Director of Entertainment at Mundo Imperial; and Josep Ponset, Director of Events at Beach Soccer Worldwide.

Coaches from all participating nations were also present, with Morgan Church (USA), Fátima Leyva (Mexico), Rose Andrade (Brazil), and Shusei Yamauchi (Japan) representing the women’s teams, while Gabriel Macías (Mexico), Marcelo Mendes (USA), Joaquin Molas (Paraguay), and Madjer standing in for Portugal’s Bruno Torres shared their expectations ahead of the tournament.

Beyond the competition, The Beach Soccer Foundation hosted a community clinic involving 66 children from local clubs Club de Fútbol Plan de los Amates and Club de Fútbol Petaquillas. With active participation from international players such as Paraguay’s Yoao Rolón, alongside coaches and staff from Brazil, Mexico, and the USA.

The initiative shows Acapulco’s commitment to grassroots development while setting the stage for world-class beach soccer action.

As the countdown ends, all eyes will be on Arena GNP Seguros, where top international talent meets local passion.
