The defending champions edge out domestic rivals Barcelona BSC to retain the European title.


Higicontrol Melilla reaffirmed their status as the queens of European beach soccer at the 2026 Women’s Euro Winners Cup in Nazaré. The Spanish powerhouse defeated domestic rivals Barcelona BSC in the championship match to secure their fourth consecutive title, further cementing a legendary dynasty that has dominated the tournament since 2023.

Earlier in the day, the competition for the remaining podium spots was equally intense. In the 3rd place match, Red Devils Ladies put on a spectacular attacking display, overcoming ACD O Sótão to claim the bronze medal.

Higicontrol Melilla win 2-1 against Barcelona BSC
The women’s 2026 Euro Winners Cup final saw a tense battle between Barcelona BSC and Higicontrol Melilla. The first period proved to be a defensive masterclass, with both sides keeping a clean sheet and neither able to break the deadlock in the opening twelve minutes.

The match ignited in the second period when Higicontrol Melilla managed to get ahead via a brilliant strike from Cris G. gave them a crucial 1-0 advantage, forcing Barcelona BSC to adjust their approach as they looked to respond in the final period.

In a dramatic third period, Vecchione doubled the lead for Higicontrol Melilla, putting them in the driver’s seat. Although Laia managed to pull a goal back for Barcelona BSC late in the game, Higicontrol Melilla held firm to secure a 2-1 victory, clinching the title and being crowned European champions.

The women’s 3rd/4th place play-off delivered an action-packed encounter, with Red Devils Ladies emerging victorious over ACD O Sótão. Red Devils Ladies established early dominance in the first period, with goals from A. Jałocha, K. Gozdek and J. Sitarz building a commanding 4-1 lead, despite a late goal from Inês for ACD O Sótão.

Following a goalless second period, the game opened up significantly in the third period. The intensity remained high as both sides traded goals, with Luana, Inês, and Raquel scoring for ACD O Sótão, while A. Banaszkiewicz, A. Sudyk, and M. Korda found the net for Red Devils Ladies to maintain their advantage.

Ultimately, the first-period surge proved decisive for Red Devils Ladies, who held firm to secure a 7-4 victory. The result marks a successful conclusion to their tournament campaign, earning them third place in the final standings.

5th/6th
AD Pastéis win 3-1 against Cagliari BS
The match between Cagliari BS and AD Pastéis began with a tight defensive battle. AD Pastéis managed to break the deadlock late in the first period, with Joana Flores finding the net to give her side a narrow 1-0 lead heading into the first break.

The second period remained a tense, goalless affair as both teams struggled to create clear-cut opportunities. With the defences holding firm on both sides, the narrow margin established by Flores kept the pressure on Cagliari BS as the game entered the final phase.

In the third period, the game opened up significantly as Varvara equalised for Cagliari BS, but AD Pastéis responded with late goals from Ferreira and Mayara to regain control. These decisive strikes secured a 3-1 victory for AD Pastéis.

7th/8th
Cadizfornia win 2-1 against Pozoalbense
The encounter between Cadizfornia and Pozoalbense began as a tactical stalemate with neither side able to break the deadlock in the first period. Both teams maintained disciplined defensive structures, keeping the game tightly balanced as they headed into the first break.

The game opened up in the second period as both sides found the back of the net. Diana struck first for Cadizfornia to break the deadlock, but E. Fernández levelled the score for Pozoalbense, ensuring the teams remained deadlocked at 1-1 entering the second break.

In the decisive third period, Cadizfornia managed to reclaim the advantage through a late goal from Arseneault. This proved to be the winning strike, as Cadizfornia successfully held their lead to secure a narrow 2-1 victory over Pozoalbense in this intense showdown.

Individual Awards
During the awards ceremony in the women’s competition, top performers were recognised. Varvara Bychkova of Cagliari BS was named the Top Scorer with 13 goals, while Lele Lopes (#1) of Higicontrol Melilla claimed the Best Goalkeeper award, and Fabiana Vecchione (#17) of Higicontrol Melilla was honoured as the tournament MVP.
