The Americas Winners Cup Heads to the Quarter-Finals

Samara ADG FP and Fuego FC completed the list of eight teams still in contention for the continental crown.


Matchday 4 of the Americas Winners Cup delivered the final battles for qualification with most places already secured, the last remaining playoff fixtures determined the full quarter-final lineup.

19th/20th Place
Isla San Sebastian win 12-2 against Nopaleros FC
Isla San Sebastian took early control, with Aliaga and Lemus finding the net to establish a 2–0 lead in the opening period. Nopaleros struggled to settle as the Salvadoran side dictated the tempo.

The second period belonged entirely to Isla San Sebastian, who produced a dominant seven-goal display to extend the score to 9–0. Carrara struck a superb hat-trick, Lemus added two more to complete his brace, while Aliaga and Baires also joined the scoring.

Nopaleros managed two consolation goals through Gabriel in the final period, but Isla San Sebastian remained relentless, adding three further goals to close out an emphatic 12–2 win.

CD Apulo llopango win 8-5 against Honduras BSA
Honduras BSA took an early lead through an own goal, but Henry Miguel’s strike brought Apulo Ilopango level. Filipov restored the Honduran advantage seconds before the break, edging them ahead 2–1 after the first period.

Apulo Ilopango responded strongly in the second period, producing four unanswered goals to seize control of the match. Edwin and Henry Miguel led the charge as their side built a 5–2 cushion heading into the final period.

A goal-filled third period saw Apulo Ilopango strike three more times to reach eight goals. Honduras battled with three of their own, but the deficit proved too large to overcome as Apulo Ilopango secured a well-earned 8–5 victory.

Playoffs
Samara ADG FP win 6-3 against CD Milenio
Samara ADG FP started with full intensity, racing to a commanding 4–0 lead in the opening period thanks to goals from Medina, Acosta, Jiménez and Busto. Milenio struggled to break through Samara’s structure as the Costa Rican side controlled possession and tempo.

Midway through the second period, R. García pulled one back for Milenio, but Carballo’s well-placed finish restored Samara’s four-goal advantage, sending them into the final period with a comfortable 5–1 lead.

Espinoza added a sixth for Samara early in the third period. Late strikes from R. García and E. García briefly reignited Milenio’s hopes, but Samara’s cushion proved insurmountable as they closed out a solid 6–3 victory.

Fuego FC win 4-3 against Arcos FC, at extra time
The opening period ended goalless, despite high intensity and several promising transitions from both Fuego and Arcos. Strong defensive work on both sides kept the match finely balanced.

Fuego broke the deadlock immediately after the restart through Ruelas, before Osorio and Drago extended the lead to 3–0. Arcos kept themselves alive with Batres’ late strike, reducing the gap to 3–1 entering the decisive period.

Arcos mounted an impressive comeback, with Berríos and Flores scoring to level the match at 3–3 and force extra time. But Fuego remained composed, finding the decisive goal in the added period to claim a narrow 4–3 win.
