Mutoola finish runners-up as St Lawrence claim bronze in the thrilling season finals
Kampala City Beach Soccer Club have been crowned champions of the 2024/2025 FUFA Beach Soccer League after a 2–0 victory over Mutoola BSC in the final at the Bambo Gardens Beach Soccer Arena in Kasanje.

The contest remained goalless until the closing stages of the final period when Ambrose Kigozi broke the deadlock for Kampala City before Joshua Leti Lubwama sealed the title with a decisive second goal. The win marks Kampala City’s maiden league triumph, rounding off a highly competitive season that showcased the growing depth and talent of Ugandan beach soccer.
Mutoola BSC settled for the runners-up spot, while St Lawrence University took third place after edging MUBS BSC 2–1 in the bronze medal match, thanks to a brace from Sharif Lubega.
During the awards ceremony, several standout performers were recognised. Mutoola’s Peter Mukwata was named the Most Valuable Player, Kampala City’s Rogers Omedwa received the Best Goalkeeper Award, while Joseph Ssendi of Buganda Royal BSC clinched the Golden Boot with 30 goals. Kampala City coach Ivan Kulika was honoured as Best Coach of the Season, and Mengo Hill BSC took home the Fair Play Award.

The event, attended by top FUFA officials including Uganda Beach Soccer Association Chairman Deo Mutabazi, highlighted another milestone in the sport’s development. With vibrant venues, high-scoring matches, and strong fan engagement, the 2024/25 FUFA Beach Soccer League reaffirmed its status as one of East Africa’s most exciting and fast-growing competitions.
