24 teams, six days, three competitions – continental glory will be decided here
Following last month’s draw ceremony, the wait is finally over. Teams from across Europe are now on the ground in Viareggio, Italy, as the stage is set for the Superfinals of the 2025 Euro Beach Soccer League (EBSL). From 9–14 September, the Tuscan coast will become a spectacle of beach soccer, with 24 national teams competing in three high-stakes competitions: the Men’s and Women’s Division A Superfinals, the Men’s Division A Relegation Final, and the Men’s Division B Promotion Final.

At today’s official press conference, attended by Roldofo Salemi, Assessore allo Sport del Comune di Viareggio; Josep Ponset, Director of Events at Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW); Massimo Moretti, President of Viareggio Beach Soccer; Stefano Santini, Technical Director of Viareggio Beach Soccer; and Ferdinando Arcopinto, Head of Delegation of the Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio. Ponset praised the city and the organisers for their efforts in hosting the competition.
“We want to thank Viareggio for the tremendous effort in organising this event. It is never easy to put together something of this scale, and Viareggio has done a fantastic job,” Ponset said.
He also highlighted the journey that brought the EBSL to its final stage: “This year, the regular phase took us to amazing places: Puerto de Santa María in Spain, Batumi in Georgia, Castellammare di Stabia in Italy, and Moldova. Each stage had incredible matches, passionate fans, and high-level beach soccer. And now, we are here for the final chapter – the Superfinal in Viareggio.”
The Men’s Division A Superfinal promises thrilling clashes right from the group stage. Group A features defending champions Portugal, 2023 winners Italy, as well as Belarus and France. In Group B, Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine, and Denmark will battle for a spot in the knockout rounds.
In the Women’s Superfinal, defending champions Poland will test themselves against Portugal and Switzerland in Group A, while Spain, winners in 2022 and 2023 take on Ukraine and hosts Italy in Group B.
Meanwhile, the Division B Promotion Final adds another layer of excitement, with Lithuania, Azerbaijan, and Belgium in Group A, and Kazakhstan, Romania, and Malta fighting for a coveted place in Division A from Group B.
Over six days, Viareggio will feature the best best teams form Europe, welcome fans, and media from across the continent, with coverage extending far beyond Italy’s borders. The event will be broadcast across more than five countries on channels including RAI, ESPN, and SportTV, as well as streamed worldwide to 177 countries via beachsoccertv.com.
With national pride, continental titles, and promotion spots on the line, Viareggio is ready to deliver a week of unforgettable beach soccer.
