Opening day action in Nazaré sees teams battle for crucial early points


Day one delivered thrilling action, tight battles, and standout performances as teams fought for vital group stage points.

Group A
Rosh Haayin BSC win 8-3 against BS Zeeland.
The clash between BS Zeeland and Rosh Haayin saw an early onslaught in the first period, with Koek opening the scoring for BS Zeeland, but was quickly matched by Catarino’s goal to level the game 1-1. The pace didn’t let up as Bê Martins, Ifrach, and Pedro Mano gave Rosh Haayin a 4-1 lead in the period.

The second period continued Rosh Haayin’s dominance. Koek pulled one back for BS Zeeland, only for Lucão and Catarino to extend the lead to 6-2.

In the final frame, BS Zeeland fought back with Cornet’s goal, but Rosh Haayin sealed the win with more goals from Bê Martins and Lucão, finishing with a resounding 8-3 scoreline.

ACD O Sótão win 3-1 against Gümüldür Spor Kulübü.
In a competitive clash, Portugal’s ACD O Sótão secured a 3-1 victory over Turkish side Gümüldür. The first period saw ACD O Sótão take control early, with Coimbra and Duarte Vivo finding the net to establish a 2-0 lead.

The second period brought more action as Batalha added a third goal for ACD O Sótão, further solidifying their dominance. Gümüldür struggled to break through, unable to capitalise on their chances against a well-organised Portuguese side.

Gümüldür mounted a late comeback in the third period, with Efe Lorenzo scoring a consolation goal. However, ACD O Sótão held firm to secure their 3-1 victory.

 

Group B
Lenergy Pisa win 6-0 agbainst BSC Batumi.
Georgia’s BSC Batumi faced Italian side Lenergy Pisa in the opening Group B fixture of the Euro Winners Cup. Pisa made a powerful statement in the first period, dominating possession and converting their chances clinically. Barsotti netted twice in quick succession, while Fazzini and Edson Hulk each added a goal to put their team in firm control with a 4-0 lead by the end of the opening frame.

The second period was more balanced as Batumi attempted to mount a response. Both sides pushed forward, but strong defending and goalkeeping at either end prevented any change to the scoreline. Despite their efforts, Batumi struggled to break down Pisa’s organised backline.

In the final period, Lenergy Pisa reasserted their attacking dominance. Edson Hulk scored again to complete his brace, and Barsotti capped off a brilliant performance by completing his hat-trick. With a commanding 6-0 win, Lenergy Pisa opened their campaign with a clean sheet.

Pafos FC win 3-0 against GD Semimbra.
The second Group B match on the opening day of the Winners Cup featured Portugal’s GD Sesimbra against Cyprus’s Pafos FC. The Cypriot side started strongly, taking full control in the opening period. Xavier opened the scoring, followed by a brace from Mateusinho, which handed Pafos a dominant 3-0 lead at the end of the first period.

The second period remained goalless despite a few close chances. Pafos focused on maintaining their lead, while GD Sesimbra pushed forward, trying to find a breakthrough. However, the Cypriot defence stood resolute, fending off every attempt from the Portuguese side.

The final period continued in a similar fashion, with both teams locked in midfield battles and strong defensive plays. GD Sesimbra’s late efforts failed to alter the scoreline, and Pafos held firm to secure a well-earned 3-0 victory to start their campaign on a high.

 

Group C
GRAP win 8-3 against Mailaysary.
GRAP dominated Malaisary with an 8-3 victory. The first period set the pace with GRAP’s Rui Oliveira, Diogo, and Alexandre firing in three quick goals, establishing a commanding 3-0 lead by the end of the period.

The second period saw GRAP maintain their momentum, with Alexandre adding his second and Francisco sealing the half with a goal, pushing the score to 5-0.

Malaisary fought back in the final period, with K. Ashimov, A. Malikov, and V. Oboznyi pulling three back. Their late surge offered a glimmer of hope. However, GRAP responded decisively, with Andre, Gonçalves, and Rodrigo netting to secure the 8-3 win.

 

Group D 
Catania BS win 13-0 against Hertha BSC.
Catania BS opened their campaign in a ruthless fashion against Hertha BSC. The Italian side dominated from the start, with goals from Thanger, Ponzetti, and Mauricinho giving them a 3-0 lead in the first period.

The second period saw Catania extend their advantage further. Ponzetti and Thanger each added a second, while Joao and Iguinho also got on the scoresheet, bringing the tally to 8-0 by the end of the frame.

The final period was no different, as the Italian side continued their onslaught. Mauricinho and Ponzetti completed their hat-tricks, Iguinho scored his second, and Barbagallo added one more to round out a dominant 13-0 victory for Catania BS.

Napoli Patron win 5-1 against BSC Hobby.
In a brilliant performance, Napoli Patron BSC defeated BSC Hobby 5-1 in a one-sided encounter. The first period saw Napoli Patron BSC take control early, with Duque, Georgios, and Alexandros finding the net to establish a strong 3-0 lead.

The second period brought a brief glimmer of hope for BSC Hobby as Stahlberg cut their deficit. However, Napoli Patron BSC’s defence kept Hobby’s attacks at bay to maintain a 3-1 lead going into the final period.

Napoli Patron BSC sealed the victory in the third period, with Ioannis and Alexandros adding to the tally to seal a commanding 5-1 win.

 

Group E 
Leixões SC win 5-1 against BS Slavia Praha.

The Group E opening match between Czech club BS Slavia Praha and Portuguese side Leixões SC began with a tightly contested first period. TELMO broke the deadlock late in the period to hand Leixões a 1-0 lead.

Midway through the second period, PH doubled the advantage for the Portuguese side, but TRAMPOTA quickly responded with his goal to keep Slavia Praha in contention. However, ZUCA restored Leixões’ two-goal lead with a strike just before the end of the period.

In the final period, TELMO and PH each netted their brace goals to seal a dominant 5-1 victory for Leixões SC.

Falfala KQ win 10-1 against KFUM Stavanger.
The second Group E encounter saw Norway’s KFUM Stavanger face Israeli club side Falfala KQ. The first period remained goalless, with both teams cancelling each other out in a tense and evenly matched opening.

However, the second period saw a complete turnaround as Falfala KQ found their rhythm and launched a relentless attacking display. Rodrigo scored a brace, while Jabareen, Omry, Moreb, and Dmais each added one to the tally. Stavanger managed to pull one back but still trailed heavily, heading into the final period with the score at 6-1.

Falfala maintained their dominance in the third period. Rodrigo completed his haul with two more goals, bringing his personal total to four. Filipe and Amer also got on the scoresheet, sealing an emphatic 10-1 victory.

 

Group F 
TSOR win 5-1 against Copenhagen.
The Group F match between Belarusian side Tsor and Denmark’s Copenhagen began with a tightly contested opening period, broken only by a late goal from Kononenko to give Tsor a 1-0 advantage.

The second period remained cagey until the final moments when Valdemar scored the equaliser for Copenhagen. However, Bokach responded immediately to restore Tsor’s lead at 2-1 by the end of the period.

In the final period, Tsor turned up the pressure. Kononenko struck again, while Avgustov and Escobar added their names to the scoresheet, sealing a dominant 5-1 win and earning full points for the Belarusian side.

Bavaria Beach Bazis win 7-3 against Hamrun SC.
The second Group F match featured Malta’s Hamrun SC against German side Bavaria Beach Bazis. RIGO opened the scoring for the Germans and quickly secured his brace to establish a 2-0 lead. JUANITO pulled one back for Hamrun, but RADOSTA restored Bazis’ two-goal cushion to end the first period 3-1.

Rutterschmidt extended the lead in the second period with a well-placed effort, taking the score to 4-1 heading into the final stretch.

In the third period, Bazis continued their dominant performance. Rodosta and Rutterschmidt both secured their braces, and Rühl added his name to the scoresheet. Although Juanito added another for Hamrun, and a Bazis own goal briefly gave hope to the Maltese side, it wasn’t enough. Bavaria Beach Bazis sealed a confident 7-3 victory.

 

Group G
Enpie Malaga win 5-2 against Montpellier Hérault.
In the thrilling Group G encounter between France’s Montpellier Hérault and Spanish side Enpie Malaga, Chiki Ardil opened the scoring early in the first period to give Malaga a 1-0 lead.

In the second period, Galindo, Ardil, Oliver, and Oba all found the net to push Malaga’s lead to 5-1. Montpellier struggled to respond going into the final period.

Belhomme’s goals in the final frame pulled two back for his side, narrowing the gap to 2-5. Despite the late push, Enpie Malaga’s sharp defence held firm to secure a comfortable victory.

Rostocker Robben win 7-2 against BSC Husty.
In a dominant display, Rostocker Robben secured a 7-2 victory over BSC Husty. The match kicked off with Baaske scoring early for the Robben, setting the pace for a one-sided first period.

The second period saw BSC Husty fight back briefly, with Janík pulling one back, but Kaufmann and Thürk added to their tally, with Thürk netting twice to give Rostocker Robben a commanding 4-1 lead by the end of the first period.

Hrnčiar managed a consolation goal for Husty, but Skeip’s brace and a late goal from Peterson ensured a convincing win for Robben, with the score at 7-2 by the final whistle.

 

Group H 
Recreativo de Huelva win 9-1 against Portsmouth BSC.
Recreativo Huelva delivered a commanding victory over Portsmouth BSC. The match saw Brian open the scoring for Recreativo in the first period, and Camacho added to the tally, setting the tone for Huelva’s dominance.

Recreativo Huelva surged ahead in the second period, with Gerlan netting a hat-trick, while Akaguma and Pedro added to the onslaught, pushing the score to 7-0. Portsmouth struggled to contain Huelva’s relentless attack.

The third period saw Akol pull one back, only for Akaguma to complete his brace, sealing the 9-1 victory.

SK Augur win 9-5 against Minots de Marseille.
In a high-scoring affair, which saw Minots de Marseille take an early lead with goals from Angeletti and Constant. However, Suli Batis responded for Augur, pulling one back to narrow the gap to 1-2 by the end of the period.

The second period turned into a goal-fest, with Augur finding their rhythm as Marmor, Lepik, and Suli Batis scored to take a 4-2 lead.

Minots de Marseille fought back valiantly, with Diagne netting twice. Despite a late goal from Diassy, Augur’s attack proved relentless, though, as Rassa and Antonio. More goals from Lepik, Raku, and Suli Batis sealed their 9-5 victory.

 

Group I 
Marseille BT win 4-2 against Marbella FP.

In the Group I fixture, France’s Marseille BT took on Spain’s Marbella FP. Marseille made their mark early, with Jordan opening the scoring midway through the first period. Gori quickly followed up to double their lead to 2-0, Pablo Lopez pulled one back for Marbella to keep his side within striking distance at 2-1 Just before the break.

The second period saw Marbella struggle to break through Marseille’s organised defence. Meanwhile, GORI struck again late in the period, grabbing his brace and restoring the two-goal cushion. Marseille entered the final frame with a 3-1 advantage.

Marbella increased the pressure in the final period, and their efforts paid off when GIN scored midway through to reduce the deficit to one. Jordan netted his second of the match with just a minute remaining, sealing a solid 4-2 victory for Marseille BT.
