São Pedro BS win 3-2 on penalties against Higicontrol Melilla, after a 3-3 draw in the match.
São Pedro BS clinched the championship title after edging Higicontrol Melilla 3-2 in a nail-biting penalty shootout, following a thrilling 3-3 draw. The match began with a goalless first period, but the second period saw Silvana score for São Pedro BS and Sara Tui equaliser for Higicontrol Melilla.
The third period witnessed an intense scramble for goals, with Natalia and Sara netted for Higicontrol Melilla. Jasna and Tai scored for São Pedro BS in the last minutes and levelled the score at 3-3. The extra time produced no goals, they forced the match to a penalty shootout. São Pedro BS’s Mayara, Ceciliana and Adriele successfully converted their attempts and secured the championship victory for her side.
3rd/4th place
Red Devils Ladies win 3-2 on penalties against Cagliari BS, after a 1-1 draw in the match.
In the third-place match, Cagliari BS and Red Devils Ladies played to a thrilling 1-1 draw, with Red Devils Ladies emerging victorious in the penalty shootout. The match saw evenly matched teams, with Roberta scoring for Cagliari BS in the second period and Szpera equalised for Red Devils Ladies later in the same period.
Despite intense efforts, neither team could break the deadlock and took the match into penalties. Red Devils Ladies secured the win, converting three out of five penalties to Cagliari BS’s two.
5th/6th place
Cali BSC win 5-4 against BS Zeeland Ladies, after extra-time.
Cali BSC secured a thrilling 5-4 victory over BS Zeeland in the 5th place match which kicked off with Nicoles opening the scoring for BS Zeeland in the first period, and Myroslava doubling their lead early in the second period. However, Cali BSC fought back in the same period, with Sam’s brace to level the scores at 2-2.
In the third period, Myroslava and Nicoles scored their second goal each to keep BS Zeeland in the lead. But Adler and Sunseri-Warp’s last-minute goal for Cali BSC sent the match into extra time, where Hall sealed the win for Cali BSC with her goal and secured fifth place for her team in the tournament.
Individual awards
During the awards ceremony in Alghero, three individual awards were given out to the top performers from the women’s competition. The ‘Best goalkeeper’ award was given to Letícia Lopes, the ‘MVP’ award was handed to Sara Tui and the ‘Top scorer’ award was won by Silvana Souza.
