2023 Beach Soccer Season Launch

The coming beach soccer season was presented at the Dubai Sport Council Headquarters on Saturday

As another beach soccer season draws closer to its conclusion, it is already time to look ahead to the next one.

2023 promises to be a great season: it is a FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup year, and on top of the regular annual events including the Euro Winners Cup, the EBSL and the Intercontinental Cup, next season will also see the return of the ANOC World Beach Games.

After a brief review of the Laws of the Game by FIFA Referees Coordinator, the next stop was Bali, where the World Beach Games will be held. A very special guest at the Season Launch was Mr. Haider Farman, ANOC Technical Director, and he gave details on the exciting upcoming edition in Bali, Indonesia. The presentation ended with the logo reveal video.

Next, Iñaki Uribarri, former BSWW Director of Communications and UEFA Media Operations Specialist, unveiled plans for a new sustainability plan. He covered the issues of the carbon footprint of sporting events, as well as the plastic use and the potential for sport to be used as a powerful tool in the fight against social injustice and prejudice.

After a short break, Director of Competitions at BSWW Ricardo Garcia went through the upcoming European Games in Poland, touching on points raised by Iñaki Uribarri concerning sustainability.

Then, the moment that the members of the beach soccer community had been waiting for, the 2023 calendar was revealed by Josep Ponset, Directors of Events at BSWW. Mr. Ponset broke down the qualifiers for the World Cup and ANOC World Beach Games, but reiterated that, as no details have been released about the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, nothing is certain as of yet.

See you in 2023!
