The inaugural Continental Tournament is ready to go in northern China.
The first edition of the Contintental Tournament takes place in Ordos this week as hosts China prepare to battle it out with seven other sides to lift the title.
In total eight of Asia’s 10 top-ranked sides will go head to head in the Mongolian city over the course of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with all competing nations also having an eye on FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup qualification.
The Asian Beach Games are on the horizon too, for those warming up in China this week, with the Continental Tournament to feature as part of the Naadam Fair in the region, which will see a host of activities and entertainment packages on show for visitors.
Oman and Lebanon get the action under way on Tuesday at 13.15 local time before Japan go head to head with Thailand.
Iran – seventh in the world and the highest placed Asian nation – will then hope to get off to a strong start when they take on a Bahrain side who finished third last weekend in El Jadida, after beating England but losing to Morocco and Egypt.
The last of the quarter-finals sees China meet Vietnam before the competition moves into the semi-final and final stages.
Those attending will also witness seventh, fifth and third-place play-offs in what promises to be a thrilling few days of beach soccer.
