The ?Arena de Beach Soccer Maestro Júnior?, placed at the CR Flamengo facilities experienced a brilliant opening
Clube do Regatas Flamengo have wanted to pay homage to one of their brightest stars, Leovegildo Lins Gama, Júnior, and unveiled under his name a Beach Soccer pitch in the club facilities at the Gávea. The legend-left back, banking on the higher number of matches played for the Rubro-Negro side as well as one of the best players in the history of Beach Soccer meet great friends to inaugurate this new space, and was accompanied by big names such as Zico, Júnior Negão, Adílio, Júlio César, Cláudio Adão, Magal and some others. The club’s president, Patricia Amorim, was there too.
“During my professional career, I spent more time here than in my own house, and to have a pitch with my name is something a feel really proud of. As a football player, I was born in the beach, so this means a lot to me”, pointed the unforgettable player, visibly moved.
In turn, Zico wanted to set clear that for his friend he would go anywhere in the world, besides highlighting that “it is really gratifying to see someone who fought so much for this club paid deserved homage. He struggled a lot to make Beach Soccer become a reality, and everyone is really happy to be here and share this moment with him”.
