All BSWW-organized competitions postponed until 1st June

El Salvador Cup will be moved to early August and the Euro Winners Cup and Euro Winners Challenge will take place simultaneously between 1st and 7th June

Following the recent recommendations and measures taken by different governments and world health authorities due to the Covid-19 virus pandemic, Beach Soccer World Wide has taken the decision to postpone all BSWW-organized events until June.

Beach Soccer World Wide’s main priority is always to keep developing the sport around the world, but in moments such as these, public health must always come first. This is why we, as a global organisation, believe it is our responsibility to make this decision to help protect the wellbeing of the population, and it is with this priority that we will keep taking any necessary actions in the future“, Joan Cusco, BSWW President, stated.

This measure has a direct impact on the coming BSWW Tour the El Salvador Beach Soccer Cup, scheduled for 9-11 April. After conversations with INDES (Instituto de los Deportes de El Salvador), the competition will be postponed until early August, with final venue still to be confirmed.

As well as this, the Euro Winners Cup and Euro Winners Challenge will now happen simultaneously, beginning on the 1st June. This measure has been taken so as not to be affected by any potential bans on sporting activities/events during April and May, which may be implemented by governments.

The competition spirit will remain the same and the venue will still be Nazaré, Portugal. However, the match schedule, once the list of teams is confirmed, will be determined accordingly. In short, the only alteration is that the Euro Winners Challenge matches scheduled to take place between 29th and 31st May will now commence on 1st June.
