During the Mundialito Beach Soccer Andalucía El Puerto de Santa María 2026, The Beach Soccer Foundation once again demonstrated the power of sport to bring people together, promote inclusion and create meaningful connections with local communities.
Alongside the exciting international competition, the Foundation organised two special activities: a beach soccer clinic in collaboration with the association Por Una Sonrisa, and a Meet & Greet session bringing together the Spanish women’s national team and young athletes from local club Barriada de la Playa.
Beach Soccer Clinic: Sharing Smiles Through Sport
On Saturday, 10 October, the Real Plaza de Toros de El Puerto de Santa María welcomed a special beach soccer clinic organised through the collaboration between The Beach Soccer Foundation and the association Por Una Sonrisa.
Por Una Sonrisa is a Spanish non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting children and young people affected by cancer, as well as their families. Through emotional, social and educational support, recreational activities and special initiatives, the association works to improve their quality of life and bring moments of happiness and hope during challenging times.
The clinic brought together children from the association and players and staff members from the Portuguese, Italian and Brazilian national teams, who enthusiastically joined the initiative to share their passion for beach soccer.

Throughout the session, the children had the opportunity to step onto the sand alongside international athletes, participating in a series of fun and interactive exercises designed to introduce them to the sport.
From ball control and dribbling to shooting and even practising the famous bicycle kick, the activities created an atmosphere filled with excitement, laughter and teamwork.

The experience concluded with a friendly match between the children and the players and staff, bringing everyone together for one final moment of fun and celebration..
The collaboration with Por Una Sonrisa was essential in making this initiative possible, reinforcing the shared belief that sport can be a powerful tool for inclusion, connection and happiness.
Meet & Greet: Inspiring the Next Generation of Female Players
The Foundation’s activities continued with a special Meet & Greet session featuring the Spanish women’s national beach soccer team and young athletes from Barriada de la Playa, a local football club.
The meeting took place following Spain’s match against Italy, giving the young players a unique opportunity to meet and interact with some of their sporting role models.

In a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, the Spanish internationals spent time with the young athletes, signing shirts, posters and other memorabilia, while sharing smiles and memorable moments together.
The session concluded with a group photograph, capturing a special moment between the Spanish national team and the next generation of young athletes.

Initiatives such as this highlight the importance of bringing elite athletes closer to grassroots sport, encouraging young players to continue pursuing their dreams and strengthening the connection between professional sport and local communities.
