Group A
Denmark win 8-4 against Moldova
Denmark took an early 1-0 lead through a brilliant Madsen goal in the third minute. Istrati levelled for Moldova late in the period, but Hansen restored Denmark’s lead before the break to make it 2-1.
Damm added a third for Denmark late in the second period, before Turta pulled one back for Moldova. Wegeberg responded with another goal for Denmark to give his side a 4-2 lead going into the final period.
Eremia brought Moldova closer early in the third period, but Denmark pulled away with four more goals from Levin, Jensen and De Fries. Stavila added a late fourth for Moldova, but Denmark held on for an 8-4 victory.
Italy win 9-3 against Germany
Italy raced to a 4-0 lead in the opening period, with Josep Jr. scoring twice, alongside goals from Bertacca and Adriani who also found the net as Italy took control early on.
Germany responded with two goals from Vasilets and Meier in the second period, but Italy added two more through Sassari and Josep Jr. to take a 6-2 lead into the final period.
Peterson scored for Germany four minutes into the third period, but Italy continued to push forward. Josep Jr., Shalabi and Fazzini all found the net to seal a convincing 9-3 victory.
