Poland win 7-1 against Belgium
Belgium drew first blood midway through the the opening period when Maurane found the back of the net. However, Poland responded with late goals from Dall’Ara to level 1-1, quickly followed by another goal from Konobrodzka two minutes left on the clock to turn the score around and take a 2-1 lead into the first period.
The Polish side stamped their absolute authority on the match in the second period. Korda extended the lead to 3-1, Terka added a fourth and Tobiczyk piled further misery on the Belgian defence with a strike, wrapping up a prolific second period with Poland firmly ahead at 5-1.
Poland safely managed their commanding advantage in the final period. Dall’Ara grabbed her second of the match at the sixth minute, and Kamińska capped off the stellar performance with a clinical finish to seal the comprehensive 7-1 triumph.
Portugal win 4-1 against Netherlands
The Portuguese side started brightly in the opening period, taking the lead when Ferreira struck with one minute left on the clock to take a 1-0 advantage into the forst break. Joana Meira doubled the advantage later early in the second period, giving Portugal a comfortable 2-0 lead.
The Netherlands fought back strongly with as Sharona found the back of the net to cut the deficit to 2-1. However, Portugal restored their two-goal cushion just a minute later when Carolina scored with one minute remaining in the period, taking a 3-1 lead into the second break.
Portugal maintained control through the final period to seal the win. Ferreira grabbed her second of the match with seconds to the final whistle, to securing the final 4-1 scoreline.
