#OneHumanity International Beach Soccer Cup Ghana 2026 postponed

New dates to be announced in due course

Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW) has agreed with the request of local promoter Nasco Feeding Minds to postpone the #OneHumanity International Beach Soccer Cup Ghana 2026, with new dates to be confirmed and announced as soon as possible.

Following extensive efforts and careful assessment in recent days, it has been concluded that the event cannot take place on the originally scheduled dates due to environmental factors affecting the planned venue at Laboma Beach.

The decision comes after a tidal surge and coastal erosion impacted the specific area of the beach designated for the competition. Since becoming aware of the situation, organisers have worked intensively to identify potential solutions, including evaluating emergency reinforcement measures, monitoring sea conditions, and exploring alternative venues in and around Accra.

However, given the limited time available before the event, it has not been possible to secure a suitable alternative venue and complete all necessary operational requirements — including permits, infrastructure and event setup — in line with the standards required for an international beach soccer competition.

For clarity, the assessment was based on the specific technical and operational requirements of hosting an international beach soccer tournament. Certain sections of the beach include permanent structures that limit the usable space, while the area allocated for the competition — traditionally used for beach soccer events — is precisely the zone affected by erosion. As a result, it is not currently possible to guarantee the safety, quality and delivery standards expected of such an event.

BSWW and Nasco Feeding Minds fully recognise the preparation and commitment made by all participating teams. Every effort is being made to minimise the impact of this unforeseen situation.

Both organisations remain fully committed to the project and will continue to evaluate next steps, including the rescheduling of the tournament, once conditions allow.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and thank all stakeholders for their understanding, patience and continued support.
